Ace Hardware App Reviews

UPDATE 12/15/15: Theyre making progress. I wish I could say that its getting close to being a fully functional app but not yet. I am not sure where the app development was outsourced but I would serious consider firing the entire QA group. I have over 30 years of IT experience and while I can see some obscure defects making there way to a production release application the basics should work flawlessly. This is certainly not the case. I was able to add items to my cart when browsing through the shop and selecting a category but when browsing the local add it was a different experience. I love Ace Hardware but there advertisement says it all "Ace is the Place". This application is not yet there!! Update 6/11/15: while I love Ace for their local convenience I am growing tied of this experiment they call an app. As of todays latest update it still crashes (goes back to iPhone home screen) when trying to view a local ad when manually entering a zip code and selecting a store. Another neat enhancement (bug) is that when I grew tired of entering my zip code to see if I could view a local ad I enabled Location Services I restarted the app. To my surprise when I went to view an ad it did not detect my location. I when back to settings and noticed that Location Services were not enabled (scratched head and enabled again). Rebooted iPhone and checked to see if Local Services for the Ace app were still enabled. They were so I restarted the app to check local ad. Again no location detected. Check settings and it was again disabled. Ive hung in as a test pilot longer than I should. The ground is fast approaching and I am ejecting!! Best of luck to the rest of the squadron!!! I love Ace Hardware and thought this would making shopping there better. Unfortunately the app keeps taking me back to the home screen. Hopefully they will work out the issue.

This has some useful features such as finding merchandise that one would be looking for, but there are several pain points to making this an enjoyable app to use. Launch time is terrible (running on iPhone 6s Plus), and also doesnt make use of the 6s Plus screen size (everything is scaled to the 6/6s size, probably needs the 6 Plus/6s Plus launch image in the Xcode project to enable that mode). When searching for things, I look at the spinner activity indicator for a long time. A scannable barcode of my Ace Rewards number would be great. All in all, feels like a website packed into an iOS app and needs some work. Probably easier to go to your local store in person than to fiddle with the app unless some big improvements are made. Theres potential to make this great here, I hope they can make it so.

Just downloaded the latest version and it still doesnt work. When you launch the app, it never gets past the Ace start screen so its totally useless. Unbelievable that this common issue hasnt been fixed after at least 6 months!

Cant even rate app as it wont open. Have been trying to open everyday for a week and does nothing.

I like the app and being able to use the scan feature. I would suggest a new feature. Accessing my ACE Reward card from the Wallet app. Keep up the good work!

Wont even load. I love ace hardware, I just wish the would step it up on their app.

Downloaded updated version. Does not even open. WORTHLESS Unbelievable the app still does not work!

Its frustrating to have an app and it wont even open to use. I would like to use this app to see what deals are going on.

There is an option to pay using PayPal on the website but not within this application.

The only reason I downloaded the app was to put my Ace Rewards card into the Wallet app so I wouldnt have to carry it on my keychain. I cant easily figure out how to add it to Wallet and am now uncertain if support is actually available as the App Store indicates.

One star until I can put my rewards card in Apple Wallet.

Why cant I put my card into Wallet? One of the reasons I downloaded App. Thinking of deleting.

Not what I had hoped for. Was looking for a shopping list to take into Ace store. Didnt show item I know they have! Ace you should check out Publix app for example.
